Man amongst Giants

The guys at Dizzy Ink in Nottingham had secured an elusive A2 Risograph printer on a short-term loan. To celebrate this fantastic opportunity they ran an open-call brief for all artists and illustrators to submit bespoke artwork based on the theme ‘Giant’ – the only restriction was that it could only be printed in Red and Black.

Days before the deadline closed I was pretty stacked with work but I knew exactly what I wanted to create in response to the Dizzy brief. I pulled up my socks and set about submitting an entry. In the end I went with ‘Gas Giant’, a tribute to Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system.

I didn’t think any more about it, but a couple of weeks after entries closed, I found out that ‘Gas Giant’ was 1 out of 45 specially selected designs to be printed and exhibited during Notts Zine Fest 2020 held at The Carousel, Dizzy Ink HQ. Definitely glad I entered, I was really pleased with how the A2 giant print came out.

The exhibition looked fantastic and I was overwhelmed to be included with so many incredible artists from around the world. As an extra surprise, the artists received an exclusive pack of every print exhibited.

Now, I just need to find a wall big enough to display them all.

You can buy one of my limited edition ‘Gas Giant’ prints here.
